Located in the center of the Marmilla, Villanovaforru is a village of about 600 inhabitants. It was quite unknown until a few decades ago but today it is considered as a cultural and tourist landmark. Thanks to the archaeological site of the nuraghe of "Genna Maria" and the Civic Archaeological Museum for bringing more attention to this place. Also, the synergy between the Municipality of Villanovaforru and its citizens is such that an Energy Community has recently been created. This Energy Community soon became a virtuous model of the use of renewable sources in Sardinia.
